The summer of 2019 was a summer which no English cricket fan will ever forget. After 20 long years England was hosting the ICC Cricket World Cup, which was soon followed by a Home Ashes Series. Interestingly, the hosts, due to their recent performances, were favorites to win both the events. As a result, there were a lot of expectations from everyone. And boy! What a cricketing performance we witnessed. The Hosts were successful in winning their maiden World Cup title. It was a topsy-turvy World Cup campaign, but they held their nerves when it mattered the most. At one stage it appeared that they would be knocked out from the World Cup, but 3 straight wins against India, New Zealand and Australia meant that they were now playing the finals after 27 long years.

Furthermore, in a closely fought final against the Kiwis, they were successful in winning the tie by the barest of margins (boundary count). However, they were not that lucky in the Ashes Series, as it ended in a 2-2 draw, which meant that the Aussies retained the urn. Even though the English failed to win the Ashes, their performance was such that they should be proud of it. In this book, author Ben Stokes has relived those moments which have now gone down in the history books.  Hence, it is a must-read for everyone interested in the drama and magic of cricket.
